A free evidence record for one plot

Draw a plot or paste its outline, tell us the commodity and your work address, and we send you the plot's evidence document: what the open satellite record shows stood on the ground before 31 December 2020.

What the record is

The same document every plot on our register gets: a record of the ground inside your boundary, read from public satellite archives, with every figure traceable to its source.

  • How the Commission's 2020 forest maps class the plot.
  • What the Landsat record classes the ground as in each year since 1990.
  • The canopy in each dry season before the cutoff, every season shown, the cloudy ones included.
  • The finding where the record supports one; where it stops short, the reason and the next step, a review of a sub-metre archive scene dated before the cutoff.

Findings are issued on estates and sun-grown crops from 4 ha in Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia and, for coffee, East Africa. Smaller plots and other regions get the same document as supporting evidence. Three plots per work address, each of 0.5 to 500 ha.

1. The plot

Find the plot first: search for the nearest town, or type its coordinates.
Or or as GeoJSON with one plot in it.

2. The commodity, and where to send the record

We use the address for this record and to follow up on it, and never share it.
