Part 05
Reference
The block outcomes in plain words, and what the record reads.
Outcomes
| Record shows | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Forest retained after harvest | Forest at the cutoff, no compact clearing of it after the cutoff, and the record runs at least a year past the harvest window. |
| Forest standing to record end | The same reading, where the window closes in or after the record's own last year, or no window was given. |
| Candidates for review | Compact clearing of the block's 2020 forest after the cutoff. |
| Withheld: not forest at the cutoff | Neither the Landsat record nor the Commission's forest map calls most of the block forest in 2020. |
| Withheld: forest the moist-forest record does not follow | The Commission's map calls it forest; the moist-forest record does not, as with dry forest or open woodland. |
| Withheld: record incomplete over the block | The record classes too little of the block. |
| Withheld: outside the record's coverage | The block is outside the pan-tropical record. |
Flags
| Flag | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Natural forest to plantation | Beside a review, where the Commission's forest-type map calls most of the block's forest primary or naturally regenerating, and part of the cleared ground reads as tree plantation afterwards. |
| Clearing inside pulpwood concession | Beside a review, where the block intersects a licensed pulpwood concession on the Indonesian layer. |
What the record reads
The Landsat moist-forest record (1990 to 2025, 30 metre pitch), whose own classes separate a canopy disturbance that closes again from one that persists, and carry regrowth and tree plantation classes; the Commission's 2020 forest-type and forest-cover maps; and, as supporting evidence that changes no outcome, the published drivers of tree cover loss and the Indonesian pulpwood concession layer. Every source is named on the record and in the document.
What the record does not say
- It does not say whether wood may be placed on the market. That determination is yours, under Articles 9 to 11.
- It reads the canopy at the record's own pitch: a single felled tree, a skid trail, a road or a log landing is below what it names as clearing.
- It follows closed evergreen and semi-evergreen forest. Dry forest and open woodland sit outside what the moist-forest record covers.
- What was planted after a clearing is read from the record's own tree plantation classes. A management plan or a harvest licence says what was intended; the record reads only what the canopy shows.
